| The Old CourtThis detached house, built in the 1960s, stands on the site of the tennis court which lay in the grounds of Thimbleby House and its name derives from that association. By 1965 Thimbleby House was owned by Mr Averdieck and it was he who obtained planning approval in 1965 for the construction of The Old Court. The architects were Bolton & Crosby of Harrogate. An old aerial photograph shows the site when the tennis court still existed. (click photo to enlarge) The court can be clearly seen on the left. Thimbleby House is in the centre of the view. |
